“Integration of Innovative Agrotechnologies into Educational Programs”

In cooperation with Alte University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Telavi State University named after Iakob Gogebashvili won the competitive Innovations Grant Competition (CIF), implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia with the support of the World Bank.
Within the framework of this CIF-funded initiative, the project “Integration of Innovative Agrotechnologies into Educational Programs” was launched with the aim of transferring the technological expertise of the Swedish university to Georgian agricultural education and introducing innovative agrotechnological knowledge.
As part of the project, Alte University’s Computer Science programs will introduce new elective courses in:
- Drone Management
- Bioinformatics
Applied Agrotechnologies and Smart Systems for Biodata
At Telavi State University, a six-course agrotechnology module will be integrated into academic programs, including:
- Drones for Agricultural Management
- Bioinformatics for Agriculture
- Applied Agrotechnologies for Viticulture and Winemaking
- Smart Systems in Viticulture and Winemaking
- Geoinformation Systems in Agriculture
Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture
On the basis of these courses, similar modules will later be introduced at the bachelor’s and vocational levels, along with certificate programs for lifelong learning.
