The 2-day ARDUINO Hackathon organized by Alte University's IT School has successfully concluded.
Nine teams, each composed of 3–4 students, were selected to participate in the project. Over the course of two days, they were mentored by students from Alte University. The participants gained hands-on experience and went through the full process of turning an idea into reality: brainstorming, coding, and assembling electronic circuits. The training sessions for the teams were led by Giorgi Grigolia, a lecturer at Alte University.
On the second day of the hackathon, the teams presented the final versions of their ideas, and the jury selected their favorite. The winning team, “Wall-e,” received a monetary prize of 1,000 GEL from Alte University to help implement their idea.
Team "Wall-e" members:
- Elisabed Trapaidze – Public School No. 90 of Tbilisi (11th grade)
- Nini Fotskhverashvili – Public School No. 112 of Tbilisi (11th grade)
- Mari Tatishvili – Public School No. 9 of Tbilisi (11th grade)
The team presented their project EcoBloom, which aims to improve garden maintenance through the use of technological sensors. The project will promote plant health and assist both beginner gardeners and small-scale growers who lack the time or experience to properly care for plants.
