The Sustainable Development Goals Olympiad is a global student competition that brings together universities, students, and partners from around the world to create innovative solutions for sustainable development. In 2026, the Global Final will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from November 6–9.
Alte University is one of the local hosts of the Olympiad in Georgia. On June 16, 2026, Alte University will host a student scientific conference — "Sustainable Development Goals: Student Research and Innovation." The conference serves as the platform for the local Sustainability Olympiad competition in Georgia.
As part of the conference, an SDG Solutions – Idea Generation Workshop will be held, where participants will form teams and develop solutions focused on the Sustainable Development Goals. Conference participants may join with their own team or have the opportunity to join a newly formed one.
Following the conference, teams will have approximately 1.5 months to develop their ideas. In July, a Pitching Presentation will take place (in person or online), where teams will present their projects before a jury.
The winning team will represent Alte University in the Sustainability Olympiad European Regional Semi-Final (Copenhagen, Denmark). The final stage of the Olympiad is the Global Final, which will be held at the University of Geneva.
Alte University invites any student enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral program. A team consists of 2–4 members, and participation from students across different disciplines is encouraged.
