Mikheil Tokmazishvili

Business School Professor

Mikheil Tokmazishvili is a Doctor of Economic Sciences. He graduated from Tbilisi Javakhishvili School, Faculty of Economics, was a visiting researcher at J. Hopkins University (2000). He completed many training courses at the Institute of Economic Development of the World Bank.

 

Together with international scientific groups, he worked on programs, projects and initiatives of the European Union, the United Nations and the World Bank. He was a senior researcher at the Center for Social and Economic Studies (CASE) (2000-2009), head of the Macroeconomics Department of the Budget Office of the Parliament of Georgia (1997-2005), head of the World Bank Institute for Economic Development program "Social Policy Reforms in Transitional Economies" in Georgia (1996-1998), Member of the Council of the National Bank of Georgia (2005-2012). He worked at the Paata Gugushvili Institute of Economics at the Georgian Academy of Sciences (1978-1996). He was the chairman of the State Procurement Supervisory Board (2000), a member of the Economic Council of the President of Georgia (2005) and the Economic Council of the Ministry of Finance (2012-2014).

 

He gives lectures in different universities of Georgia. He has published more than 150 scientific publications on finance, social economy, macroeconomics, international economy, business administration and gender issues in Georgia and abroad. He is a participant of many international scientific conferences and forums.
