September 17 00:00

October 14 00:00

Alte University, with funding from the U.S. Embassy's Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund and in partnership with the U.S. Embassy's Alumni Association for Exchange Programs, is pleased to announce the recruitment of high school girls (grades IX-XII) for the project Medical Tech Education for High School Girls.

The project aims to select 100 students from grades 9 to 12. Participants will gain insights into contemporary advancements in bioengineering and medical technologies, study the fundamentals of electronics using Arduino, explore the applications of artificial intelligence in medicine, and, with mentorship, engage in the development of prototypes for medical wearable devices. The program will culminate in an exhibition where the top three teams will be awarded prizes from our partners.

Lectures will commence in November and will primarily be conducted online, complemented by practical workshops held on Saturdays at Alte University. Instruction will be provided by faculty from Alte University’s School of Medicine, as well as distinguished Georgian scientists and researchers based abroad.

The selection process begins with team registration. Teams must consist of five girls from grades IX-XII attending schools in Tbilisi, and an application must be submitted detailing each member's experience and the team's motivation. It is preferred that at least one team member possesses experience in electronics or programming. The registration form should be completed on behalf of the team by one member. All team members must be enrolled at the same school; however, multiple teams may represent a single school. A total of twenty teams will be selected.

Criteria for Selection:

  • Teams must consist of exactly five girls from grades IX-XII, all from the same school (they may be from different grades, and several teams may be formed from one school).

  • At least one team member must have experience in electronics or programming.

  • It is advisable to include a recommendation from a teacher who instructs in technology or biology at your school (we may contact them if necessary during the selection process).

Please ensure that the registration form is submitted on behalf of the team only once. Applications will be evaluated based on the participants' experience and motivation.

The deadline for submitting applications is October 14
