Alte University has joined the European University Association (EUA) Learning & Teaching Thematic Peer Groups, an international initiative that brings together European universities to address key challenges in higher education.

As part of the EUA theme “Learning and Teaching in the Age of Transformation,” Alte University will collaborate with leading European institutions on the topic “Preparing Students and Teaching Staff for a World Marked by AI.”

The peer group consists of ten EUA member universities, including:

  • Université libre de Bruxelles (Belgium);
  • Catholic University of Lille (France);
  • Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences (Germany);
  • TU Dublin (Ireland);
  • University of Luxembourg (Luxembourg);
  • Tilburg University (the Netherlands);
  • SWPS University (Poland);
  • University of Aveiro (Portugal);
  • Lund University (Sweden);
  • Alte University (Georgia).

Between 2026 and 2027, participants will take part in three thematic workshops exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on curricula, assessment methods, academic integrity, and the professional development of teaching staff.

Alte University will be represented by:

  • Irma Grzelidze - Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research;
  • Nino Alavidze - Director of the Quality Assurance Department;
  • Mohammad Swidani - Bachelor's student in Computer Science.

Throughout the initiative, Alte University will share its institutional experience in AI policy, quality assurance, curriculum development, and student engagement, while also learning from the best practices of partner universities across Europe.

The EUA Learning & Teaching Thematic Peer Groups provide a collaborative platform for peer learning, knowledge exchange, and the development of recommendations that contribute to the future of higher education in Europe.

The outcomes of the group's work will be compiled into a joint report that will inform EUA policy development and serve as a foundation for discussions at the European Learning & Teaching Forum 2028.
