On June 15-16, Alte University hosted an international scientific conference dedicated to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The conference brought together students, academic staff, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss key sustainability challenges, present research findings, and exchange knowledge and practical experience.
The two-day event was designed for different target audiences. The first day, titled “Sustainable Development Goals: Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation,” focused on academics and researchers, while the second day, “Sustainable Development Goals: Student Research and Innovation,” was dedicated entirely to student-led presentations and discussions.
Participants presented research and initiatives related to health and well-being, education, technology and innovation, law and governance, social justice, sustainable economy, environmental protection, and climate action.
The student conference featured participants from Alte University as well as other Georgian and international universities. Through thematic sessions, students explored legal, social, technological, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development while sharing their research and perspectives.
As part of the event, participants also took part in the interactive workshop “SDG Solutions – Idea Generation Workshop,” aimed at developing innovative solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. The winning team from the next stage of the competition will have the opportunity to represent Georgia at the SDG Olympiad in Geneva this September.
The conference forms part of Alte University’s sustainability strategy and reflects the institution’s commitment to strengthening research culture, fostering international academic collaboration, and supporting innovation for sustainable development.
