Vanadzor State University was founded on 9 July 1969 as a pedagogical faculty and became a full university in 2014. It is the largest higher education institution in Armenia’s Lori region, serving over 2,400 students across five faculties - Philology; History & Geography; Pedagogy; Biology & Chemistry; and Physics & Mathematics. The university focuses on preparing teachers, researchers, and professionals for the region’s needs

The university actively takes part in Erasmus+ projects and has introduced innovation initiatives such as SMART Caffe, MediaLab, and a Civic Education Center. It collaborates with regional and international institutions through student exchanges, conferences, and joint research programs, giving students practical and global learning experiences.
