University of Coimbra (UC)

Founded in 1290, the University of Coimbra is one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious public universities, located in Coimbra, Portugal. It offers a wide range of academic programs at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels across eight faculties, including law, medicine, sciences, engineering, humanities, and economics. While the primary language of teaching is Portuguese, many programs, especially at the postgraduate level, are offered in English to attract international students.

UC has a strong international profile, hosting students from nearly 60 countries and actively participating in Erasmus+ and other international exchange programs. Its historic campus is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the university is recognized for its world-class research, innovative teaching methods, and extensive global academic networks.

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Alte University and the University of Coimbra (UC). The collaboration offers diverse opportunities for students, academic, and administrative staff to gain international experience. The agreement between the universities will facilitate the organization of exchange programs for academic staff and students, joint research projects, exchange of teaching materials and literature, as well as the development of joint academic programs.
