Alte University is a partner in the Erasmus+ CBHE project LIFESTRAND (Life Support Training and Dissemination). The project aims to develop the emergency care and pre-hospital trauma management skills of university academic staff and students, as well as of populations living in areas exposed to military threats. Its ultimate objective is to safeguard the health and the right to life of communities affected by occupation and conflict.

 

The project is coordinated by Tbilisi Medical Academy and involves leading universities from Georgia, Ukraine, Spain, and Portugal.

 

Project objectives:

 

  • Development of first aid manuals for universities in Georgia and Ukraine, supported by international partners – the University of Santiago de Compostela, the University of Porto, and SEMERGEN (the Spanish Society of Primary Care Physicians)
  • Training of university staff, students, and local community representatives in life-saving first aid skills

     

Expected outcomes:

 

  • Creation of first aid manuals tailored to the specific needs of military risk zones in Georgia and Ukraine
  • Direct impact on 242 university representatives (students and academic staff) and nearly 7,200 local residents
