Internal Quality Assurance

Internal Quality Assurance Mechanisms

Internal quality assurance mechanisms operating at the university are part of the university's strategic management. Through these mechanisms, the main activities of the institution are brought into line with the goals set out in the university's strategic plan.

Quality Assurance of Educational Programs

The university has approved and operates a methodology for planning and developing educational programs, procedures for approving, amending and canceling programs (mechanisms for providing students with further education in the event of changing/cancelling the program), and principles for forming learning outcomes, which are an important tool for both lecturers and other parties involved in university activities. The regulations clearly stated in these documents ensure the improvement of the quality of education, transparency and active participation of the parties involved.

Research and surveys

Based on the quality research policy, the Quality Assurance Department conducts fixed and needs-based satisfaction surveys. Students, university employees, graduates and employers are involved in the implementation of the surveys. The purpose of conducting these surveys is to conduct a detailed analysis of the experiences and opinions of interested parties; to improve university activities based on the assessments, recommendations and advice received from them.

Thematic analyses

The Quality Assurance Department periodically conducts thematic analyses. Thematic analysis is a needs-based research project aimed at collecting comprehensive information on priority issues for the university, promoting continuous improvement of university life, promoting the introduction of best international practices and evidence-based decision-making at the university.

Annual reports of the department

The Department of Quality Assurance, based on internal quality assurance mechanisms, annually develops an annual assessment report on university activities, which serves to improve university activities through evidence-based assessment, transparency of assessment and development trends.

E-learning

In accordance with Articles 47.4 and 47.7 of the Law of Georgia on Higher Education, Alte University implements e-learning using a management system for the educational process (https://emis.alte.edu.ge). This includes synchronous and/or asynchronous communication forms, which entail interactions where the sender and receiver of information are not in the same space but communicate simultaneously (synchronous) or at different times (asynchronous) through specific internet technologies. In asynchronous communication, instructors make teaching materials, recorded video lectures, available online, specifically on the university's educational management portal (https://students.alte.edu.ge) on the student’s personal page, allowing students to learn at any time, revisit materials, review content, and more.

It is noteworthy that quality assurance agencies and the university have developed and published recommendations for e-learning, which can be found below:
