HIV/AIDS DAY EVENT

The HIV/AIDS event hosted by the Alte student research unit on 23rd December,2023 the theme "Beyond The White Coat: Tackling HIV Stigma" was a dynamic and engaging platform aimed at dismantling misconceptions surrounding the virus.

One of the highlights of the event was a captivating seminar delivered by a seasoned professional in the field Dr. Nino Rukhadze, who provided invaluable insights into the latest advancements in HIV/AIDS research, treatment modalities, and strategies for combating stigma.

To foster active participation and enhance learning, interactive quiz competitions were conducted for the audience, challenging their knowledge of HIV/AIDS prevention, transmission, and stigma reduction. In recognition of their knowledge and engagement, prizes were distributed to the winners of the quiz competitions, incentivizing further participation among the audience.

A particularly impactful component of the event was the role play act performed by medical students from the International Medical School of ALTE University. In this enactment, they portrayed a hospital scene illustrating the pervasive effects of HIV stigma on patients' lives. Through their performances, the students shed light on the discrimination and prejudice faced by individuals living with HIV/AIDS, highlighting the urgent need for empathy, compassion, and destigmatization in healthcare settings.

Overall, the HIV/AIDS event at ALTE Medical University served as a multifaceted platform for education, awareness, and advocacy, empowering attendees to challenge stigma and foster a more inclusive and compassionate society.
