A competition of mock trials for schoolchildren is organized by Alte University and supported by the High School of Justice.
The competition aims to help schoolchildren realize the importance of a jury, learn about the trial proceedings under the supervision of qualified facilitators, and participate in an example of a legal case in a process close to reality.
Participation can:
Graduates of private and public schools;
The team may consist of two or three students from the same school;
The team must have a name.
The mock trial competition consists of the following stages:
First stage: group registration (March 1-10)
Second stage: training for registered groups (March 14-15) introduction to the case and redistribution of roles;
The third stage – oral rounds (mock process) – consists of the first and final rounds.
First Round-March 17-18
Second Round: March 2: Award Ceremony
Registered groups will be trained about the importance of a jury trial. Participants will receive general knowledge, recommendations from practicing lawyers, set up mock trials, and combine the roles of trial participants.
Mock trials will be held in the mock courtroom of Alte University.
The oral rounds will be evaluated by the "judges," which consists of 3 members:
One member is a representative of the High School of Justice;
one member is a representative of the General Prosecutor's Office;
one member is a representative of Alte University School of Law.
All participating teams will receive gifts and certificates.The winners will be announced in the following nominations:
