Information for candidates participating in the competition:
Qualification requirements:
- Professor, who will be elected for a period of 5 years:
- Doctor’s or equivalent academic/scientific degree in the relevant discipline;
- At least 6 years of scientific-pedagogical experience;
- Scientific publications and participation in conferences/seminars in the relevant field;
- Associate Professor, who will be elected for a period of 3 years:
- Doctor’s or equivalent scientific degree in the relevant discipline;
- At least 3 years of scientific-pedagogical experience;
- Scientific publications and experience of participation in conferences/seminars in the relevant field;
Assistant Professor, who will be elected for a period of 3 years:
- Doctor’s or equivalent scientific degree in the relevant discipline;
- Scientific publications and experience of participation in conferences/seminars in the relevant field;
- Assistant, who will be elected for a period of 3 years:
- Doctoral student;
- Scientific publications and experience of participation in conferences/seminars;
Additional requirements for candidates wishing to hold an academic position in clinical disciplines:
Experience:
a) Professor: pedagogical – at least 6 years, clinical – at least the last 9 years,
b) Associate Professor: pedagogical – at least 3 years, clinical – at least the last 5 years,
c) Assistant Professor: clinical – at least the last 3 years,
d) Assistant – doctoral student in a clinical specialty,
For a person wishing to hold an academic position in the English-language one-cycle medical program, it is additionally required to meet one of the criteria listed below:
- At least 3 years of experience teaching in an English-language program;
- Implementation of medical practice in English in a clinic operating abroad for at least 1 year;
- Implementation of teaching/research activities in English in the field of biomedicine in a research institution operating abroad for at least 1 year;
- Completion of an English-language undergraduate or postgraduate program, confirmed by the relevant document;
- Certificate confirming English language proficiency at least at B2 level, recognized internationally (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English, UNIcert, EnglishScore, etc.).
It is possible to select a person for an academic position based on professional qualification if his/her qualification is confirmed by professional experience, special training and/or published works in the relevant field, and he/she has the competence necessary for achieving the learning outcomes provided by the program.

Documents to be submitted for participation in the competition:
- Application addressed to the President (see attached file);
- Resume (CV) in Georgian and English;
- List of scientific works of the last 6 years (full information about articles, books, monographs or other scientific works, including: title, place of publication, date, number of pages, name of publisher, and copies of outer covers (for the purpose of the competition, the information of the last 6 years is especially important (if available));
- Copy of ID card;
- Copies of qualification documents (diplomas);
- Information about the dissertation topic (if applicable): title, direction, field - if not indicated in the resume;
- Certificate confirming scientific-pedagogical activity (if applicable);
- Certificates, awards and other documents;
- Other documentation confirming compliance with the criteria established for holding an academic/scientific position, documents confirming professional experience;
Stages of the competition:
- Stage I - Selection of documents submitted by the candidates.
- Stage II - Interview with the competition commission (may include conducting a simulated lecture).
Competition deadlines:
- The competition is announced on October 27, 2025;
- Submission of documents by applicants for academic positions – from November 27 to December 1, 2025;
- First stage of the competition – selection of documents: December 2-3, 2025;
- Second stage of the competition – interview with the competition commission: December 4-6, 2025 (the exact date and time of the interview will be communicated to the candidate after passing the first stage of the competition);
- Publication of preliminary results of the competition: December 8, 2025;
- Reception of appeal applications: December 9, 2025;
- Review of appeal applications: December 10-11, 2025;
- Publication of final results of the competition: December 12, 2025;
